Expandable polystyrene beads are pre-expanded under steam and then heated and formed in a mould into white boards; the interior consists of many fine closed-cell spheres fused together. The board is light, easy to cut and easy to shape, and is a common material for building wall and roof insulation, composite-panel insulation, and insulation of cold stores, air-conditioning ducts, vehicles and ships.
The company's predecessor was Qingdao Baoli Xingsheng Foam Plant, and EPS foam board is the product category with the longest history here. From block production to strip cutting, board cutting and shaped-piece machining, all work is completed in the plant.

Why Exterior Insulation
Five changes brought by external wall insulation
- Protects the main structure and extends the service life of the building. With the insulation layer placed outside the envelope structure, deformation caused by temperature change is reduced, and the effect of ultraviolet radiation and carbonation on the concrete is lessened.
- Effectively eliminates thermal bridges. Internal insulation can hardly avoid thermal bridges; external insulation prevents them effectively and avoids condensation.
- Improves wall dampness. The permeation resistance on the outside of the insulation layer tends to stabilise the moisture content of the wall and strengthens its thermal performance.
- Keeps the room temperature stable. The structural layer with the greater heat-storage capacity lies on the inner side of the wall, which helps keep the indoor temperature stable.
- Increases the usable floor area. It also avoids damage to the insulation layer during later fit-out work.

Main uses
Composite and sandwich panels
As the core of metal-faced sandwich panels and composite insulation boards, with blocks cut to the required thickness.
Cold stores, air conditioning, vehicles and ships
Insulation and weight reduction for refrigerated vehicle bodies, external wrapping of air-conditioning ducts and ship compartments.
Floor heating underlay
Insulation and acoustic underlay beneath the floor-heating layer, reducing downward heat transfer.
Decorative carving and shaped pieces
Carving stock for European-style mouldings, cornice shapes, exhibition and landscape elements.
Packaging and protective cushioning
Transit cushioning inserts for equipment, ceramics and precision parts, moulded to the product shape.
Pairs with XPS board: a common combination on the same project is "XPS board for roofs and floors, EPS board for external wall shapes and mouldings". Both can be purchased from the same plant, reducing the batch differences caused by multi-source supply.
